When is ESPN going to fire Mike Patrick. He is so not funny. Let's see, he still calls McRoberts, Roberts even though he does Duke games all the time. He is worried that he would snap off a finger doing a commercial like Tiger Woods - how do you snap off a finger! And the Winter X games during the summer comment was fantastic too. ESPN wake up!

OH MY! Talk about an emotional roller coaster. Thank you Mr. McClure!!! Duke totally outplayed Clemson and it would have been a shame to lose. WOW! That was a fun game. WHEW!!

A good week for Duke Basketball - 3 ACC wins! I was able to watch all three games and I'm impressed with the improvement over the past 2 weeks. The defense continues to get better and better, creating turnovers, which are now being converted into fast break opportunities. Scheyer and Henderson and really starting to mature. Henderson has a great mid-range game and his athletic ability is starting to show. Once Scheyer gets hot you can't cool him off! Paulus has improved and his decision making is excellent. McRoberts continues to be Mr. Versatile. Big week coming up - two homes games - let's keep it up!
We went to see Pan's Labryinth today. What a great movie! Even though it was subtitled you are quickly drawn into the story. Definitely recommended!

After two disappointing losses Duke played an awesome game at Miami tonight. The offense was the most impressive it has been all year. The reason they were making so many of the shots is because they were taking good ones! Let's hope this continues, because if it does, this team will be a tough out in March!
The Bears made it an interesting game today. After hearing about how Rex would fare, it was the defense that sputtered. Should be a fun game next weekend against the Saints.

Welcome to 2007!
We had a great time visiting CT over the holidays. We found our dream house - now we just have to find a way to pay for it!
Another good win for Duke tonight against Temple. Everyone is starting to pick up their game and the offense is starting to look much more fluid. With Paulus getting healthy and McRoberts being assertive, I'm excited for the ACC season to start. The first big test will come on the road but I'm sure VT will bring a good game on Saturday. GO DUKE!!
Last night we went to see For Your Consideration. It was very funny. Although this differs from Christopher Guest's other movies because it's not shot documentary style, it still brings the laughs. Everytime I see Ricky Gervais on screen I start laughing, even if he doesn't say anything. Fred Willard is hysterical as well. Definitely recommended!
2007 looks to be a great year for music. One of my most anticipated releases is the new Dolorean record that comes out in February. You can listen to 3 of the tracks at their website http://dolorean.wordpress.com - make sure to listen to "Heather Remind Me How This Ends" - it is fantastic!!

Don't know if I'll have much a of a voice for our trip to CT if the refs suck on Thursday like they did tonight. All I ask for is consistency - not consistency when it comes to sucking. Was impressed with Duke's offenese down the stretch tonight. McRoberts played very well but I'd like to see more emotion from him - he seems more subdued this year. Should be a fun one against Gonzaga on Thursday night!

Duke won again tonight. Offense was not pretty again but the defense is great. I'm hoping they come out with the same energy on Saturday that they had for the second half this evening. I know there are people out there complaining about Duke and how bad they look but I'm happy they are winning and playing great defense. It's the same with the Chicago Bears fans - just shut up about benching Grossman and enjoy the fact that the team is 10 and 2. I think this is just a reflectin of our society that most people are never satisfied no matter what. I for one am enjoying both Duke and the Chicago Bears, even if the offense isn't as great as all the experts want it to be.
Here is a sneak peak at my top ten albums of 2006 - it was kind of a weak year for albums but 2007 looks to be spectacular.

Go Bears! Chicago has been a force to be reckoned with in the National Football League so far this year and they continued their winning ways with a victory over the NY Jets today. Not the prettiest of games but a win is a win. Tough one next weekend in New England.
Had fun at the Sun-Times Sports Collectable show on Friday evening. Was able to pick up some nice gloves and one bat. It seems everytime I go, there are more gloves to be bought - I like that and hope it continues.
Duke plays against Air Force on Monday night. It should be a pretty good test and I'm anxious to see how the freshmen do with their first road game. Air Force runs a discplined offense and has some really good shooters. However, I don't think they can match the size of Duke or the athleticism. I'm predicting a Duke victory but you never know.
Off to Florida on Wednesday. Yay!
