Yay! Josh McRoberts will not be entering the NBA draft this year and will be returning to Duke for his sophmore season. If they can sign Lance Thomas next week then I think they'll have a shot to do special things next year. Losing JJ and Shelden, Sean and Lee is huge but with the returning players and the freshmen class, Duke will be very athletic and deep.

Over the weekend we watched the movie Everything is Illuminated. I had read this book last fall and really enjoyed the novel - it was funny, sad and a little strange. The movie was a lot different than the book but it was still very well done. The beginning is very funny but the true story starts to unfold and it is very sad and gripping. I would definitely recommend the book and the film to anyone.
My fantasy baseball team is doing pretty decent. Our league seems to be pretty equal at this time so one day you might be in first, the next day you could be in fifth. My players need to start hitting home runs and getting some RBIs = my big guys are starting to get hot so it is just a matter of time.
Went to the driving range on Sunday. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with my new clubs. I think I may have lost a little distance but they go nice and straight. I also picked up a hybrid wood/iron. After intially disliking it I started to get into a good groove and was knocking it straight and far. Hopefully that carries over onto the actual course.

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a while. I've been really busy doing a host of other things. Anyway, here a quick recap of some movies I've seen, places I've been and some other semi-interesting things:
Kristin is getting an academic award this Wednesday. What a nerd! As a token of my admiration I bought her a little trinket that I hope she will one day proudly display in the pharmacy she works in. Check out the picture and you'll see what it is!
We've watched a couple of movies recently. The Squid and the Whale was ok but not as good as everyone said it was. None of the characters were very likable - I think that was the intention but it was hard to feel sorry for any of them. Junebug was a little better - the story line was interesting but I couldn't figure out who the movie was about - was it about the pregnant girl, the new sister-in-law or the son that returns. Maybe it was about all of them. The last one I watched was Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. This documentary was very interesting. I knew a little bit about the whole situation but the movie really goes into detail and shows how they pulled the hood over everyone. All of them should be in jail! And the movie makes Bush look like an even bigger jerk than he already is. Definitely check this one out.
Last Thursday I went to a Cubs game at Wrigley. The sun was shining and it was a great day for a game. The Cubs looked pretty bad in their 8 to 3 loss. I did have lots of fun keeping score as usual. No foul balls - a couple pretty close but nothing to get excited about. Worst news is that the Australian Homemade Ice Cream store isn't on Southport anymore - WAHHHH!!
I've been working on creating a web forum for vintage baseball glove collectors. I'm almost finished and it should be ready to go by the end of the week. Hope to attract lots of collectors!
Grass is starting to grow where I planted seed. I'll probably have the mow the other parts pretty soon but I'm going to hold off a little while.
Today I played golf for the first time this year. Lots of wind and water but it was still fun. Used the front 7 holes (2 were waterlogged and unplayable) as practice. Shot a 41 on the back - putted pretty good, new irons feel great but I still need to work on getting past the ladies tee with my drive.
