Brett's Boring Blog

Check in to see what books I'm reading, what music I'm listening to and the vintage baseball gloves and bats I'm finding at flea markets and antique shows.

Nothing at the flea market this past weekend. Oh well, a couple of good shows coming up - hope I can find some nice things.

Kristin and I went to see Talladega Nights - The Legend of Ricky Bobby the other day. This movie was really funny - the whole cast does an excellent job. Definitely recommended if you like comedies. We also watched Syriana and the Producers over the weekend. Syriana was kind of confusing to start - it took me a little while to piece all of the characters together. If you can figure it out, it's a pretty interesting premise - you really can't figure out who the good/bad guys are. The Producers was pretty bad - I'm sure it comes off better on the stage - the movie was boring and I only chuckled a couple of times.

Finished the Neil Gaiman book Stardust and really enjoyed it. It is a fairy tale for adults. The movie comes out in March - should be interesting. I also read Gaiman's Good Omens. I liked this book as well - it's about angels, devils and armageddon told in a very funny way. It sort of reminded me of Kevin Smith's Dogma.
